The Challenge

Create Against is a premium visual creative agency offering high-end video production services—from brand films to commercial campaigns. The challenge was designing a website that matches the caliber of their work without overshadowing it. Most creative agency websites suffer from one of two problems: either they're overly minimalist to the point of being sterile, or they're so design-heavy that the actual portfolio becomes secondary. For an agency whose entire value proposition is visual storytelling, the website needed to be a showcase, not a distraction. Potential clients need to see the quality instantly—if the work doesn't speak for itself within seconds, they'll move on to the next agency.

Our Role

We handled all UI/UX design and Webflow development, managing the complete project from initial wireframes through final deployment. This included designing the full user experience, creating all visual layouts, developing the site in Webflow with custom interactions, integrating video content, and launching the production site with performance optimization.

The Approach

Our strategy was portfolio-first design with bold visual confidence. Instead of burying the work behind lengthy service descriptions and about pages, we made the portfolio the hero—visitors land on stunning video work immediately. The design needed to feel premium and intentional without competing with the video content. We prioritized large-format video showcases, minimal UI chrome, and smooth transitions that enhance rather than distract from the creative work. The goal was to create a digital experience that feels as polished and professional as the videos Create Against produces for their clients.

Discovery & Research

We began by analyzing top-tier creative agency websites—studying how agencies like ManvsMachine, AKQA, andIstudio position their work. The pattern was clear: the best agencies let their portfolio do the talking, using minimal text and maximum visual impact. We researched video-first web experiences, noting how smooth loading, smart lazy loading, and seamless autoplay create immersive showcases without sacrificing performance. Through conversations with Create Against's team, we learned their ideal clients are brand managers and marketing directors who value bold, cinematic storytelling—these are visual decision-makers who judge quality instantly. The key insight: if the first 10 seconds don't wow them with world-class video work, no amount of service descriptions will convert them.

Design & Development

We designed the website in Figma with a bold, dark aesthetic that makes video content pop—high contrast, generous whitespace, and typography that feels confident without being loud. The homepage structure prioritizes immediate visual impact: full-screen video hero, followed by a curated portfolio grid showcasing their best work. We prototyped key interactions to ensure smooth transitions between portfolio pieces and service pages. Moving into Webflow development, we built a custom CMS structure allowing easy portfolio updates, implemented lazy loading for video optimization, and created custom interactions for smooth scrolling and hover effects. The trickiest technical challenge was balancing video quality with load times—we implemented adaptive video streaming, compressed files without visible quality loss, and used poster frames strategically to maintain fast initial page loads. The site architecture keeps navigation minimal and intuitive: portfolio front and center, services clearly defined but not overwhelming, about page focused on agency credentials and team, and a streamlined contact flow.

Final Design

The final website puts Create Against's video work at the forefront with bold, large-format showcases and a dark, cinematic aesthetic that makes content shine. Visitors immediately see world-class production quality—full-screen video heroes, smooth portfolio navigation, and minimal UI that never competes with the creative work. The site feels premium, intentional, and perfectly aligned with the agency's brand positioning, converting decision-makers who recognize exceptional visual storytelling when they see it.

Results & Outcomes

The website successfully positions Create Against as a premium video production agency through bold visual storytelling and portfolio-first design. The site effectively converts high-value clients by letting the work speak for itself, with fast load times and seamless interactions that maintain professional credibility.

  • Smooth custom interactions and transitions that enhance rather than distract from the creative work

What We Learned

This project reinforced that for visual creative agencies, the work is the marketing—no amount of clever copywriting or design flourishes can compensate for burying the portfolio. We learned the importance of strategic restraint: knowing when to add visual flair and when to step back and let video content breathe. The biggest technical challenge was video optimization—balancing quality with performance taught me to think critically about compression, streaming strategies, and progressive enhancement. If we were starting over, we'd conduct more user testing with actual brand managers to validate the portfolio browsing flow earlier, as some navigation refinements only became obvious after watching real users interact with the site. This experience deepened our understanding that great creative agency websites are about curation and showcase, not explanation—the work should convince clients, not words.
