The Challenge

FPSRK (the Kosovo Federation of Fishing) had no digital presence despite representing an entire community of fishing enthusiasts across Kosovo. They wanted to create a digital experience where they could connect with anglers, share conservation initiatives, promote fishing events, and establish themselves as the official authority on fishing regulations and best practices. The challenge was building a platform that serves diverse user needs—casual fishermen looking for tips, serious anglers seeking competition info, conservationists wanting to learn about sustainable practices, and newcomers discovering the sport. The federation needed a website that feels welcoming to beginners while remaining credible and authoritative for experienced anglers.

Our Role

We handled all UI/UX design and Webflow development for the complete website. This included researching user needs, designing the full user experience and interface, building the entire site in Webflow, and deploying it to production.

The Approach

Our strategy centered on creating a digital hub that balances community engagement with official authority. Federation websites often feel overly bureaucratic and intimidating—we wanted FPSRK to feel approachable, inspiring, and genuinely useful. The approach was to design a visual experience that captures the beauty and tranquility of fishing while maintaining professional credibility. We prioritized clear information architecture so users could quickly find regulations, events, and resources, while also creating space for storytelling and community connection.

Discovery & Research

We started by researching fishing federation websites internationally to understand common patterns and missed opportunities. Most fell into two camps: overly corporate government sites with poor usability, or outdated hobbyist sites with cluttered design. We interviewed FPSRK leadership and several Kosovo fishing enthusiasts to understand what they actually needed from a federation website—the answers were clear: event calendars, fishing regulations, conservation education, community stories, and a way to contact the federation. We analyzed Kosovo's fishing community demographics and identified that many users would be accessing the site on mobile devices while outdoors. The key insight: the website needed to be both a practical resource and an inspirational gateway into the fishing lifestyle.

Design & Development

We designed the UX with a clear information hierarchy—homepage showcasing hero imagery of Kosovo's waters, followed by quick access to the most common needs (regulations, events, membership). We created distinct content sections for different user types: beginners get "Getting Started" guides, experienced anglers get competition info, and conservationists get sustainability resources. The visual design uses natural tones—blues and greens inspired by Kosovo's rivers and lakes—combined with clean typography and generous whitespace to feel modern and accessible. We built the entire site in Webflow, taking advantage of its visual development workflow to iterate quickly while maintaining full design control. The trickiest challenge was structuring content in a way that's both legally comprehensive (for regulations) and genuinely readable. We used progressive disclosure—overview pages with clear CTAs leading to detailed information—so users aren't overwhelmed. The Webflow CMS made it easy for FPSRK staff to update events, news, and resources without technical knowledge, ensuring the site stays fresh after launch.

Final Design

The final website establishes FPSRK as the central digital hub for Kosovo's fishing community through a modern, accessible platform. Visitors can easily access fishing regulations, discover upcoming events, learn about conservation initiatives, and connect with the broader fishing community. The design balances official authority with approachable warmth—using natural imagery and clean layouts to make fishing feel inspiring rather than bureaucratic. The Webflow CMS empowers FPSRK staff to keep content fresh without technical dependencies.

Results & Outcomes

The website successfully launched FPSRK's digital presence and established them as the authoritative online resource for Kosovo's fishing community. The platform now serves as the central hub where fishing enthusiasts connect, learn, and engage with the federation's conservation and community initiatives.

Key Achievements

  • Launched complete digital platform connecting Kosovo's fishing community—from zero online presence to authoritative hub
  • Designed clear information architecture balancing regulations, events, conservation, and community resources
  • Built modern, accessible website in Webflow with mobile-first responsive design for outdoor access
  • Implemented Webflow CMS enabling FPSRK staff to update content independently without technical knowledge
  • Created visual identity using natural tones inspired by Kosovo's waters—approachable yet professional
  • Structured content with progressive disclosure making complex regulations readable without overwhelming users

What We Learned

This project reinforced that government and federation websites don't have to feel bureaucratic—audiences respond better to inspiring, approachable design even when the content is official. We learned that Webflow's CMS is critical for organizations with limited technical resources—empowering non-technical staff to manage content ensures the site stays relevant long after launch. The biggest challenge was balancing comprehensive information with readability—fishing regulations are dense and legally important, but walls of text drive users away. Progressive disclosure solved this: overview pages for quick answers, detailed pages for deep dives. If we were starting over, we'd spend more time upfront interviewing actual Kosovo anglers rather than relying heavily on international research—local context matters more than we initially assumed. This experience fundamentally shaped our understanding of building websites for traditional institutions: meet them where they are while gently pushing toward modern user expectations.
